I was born and raised on the New Hampshire seacoast and grew up with a great fondness for all things aquatic. After taking a year off to travel around the world, I attended Sarah Lawrence College just outside New York City to study visual arts and anthropology. I took my first breaths underwater in the college’s pool to satisfy my P.E. requirement and graduated to go on and work as the studio manager to renowned street art duo FAILE in Brooklyn, NY. It was this job and it’s very generous vacation time that allowed me to visit the island of Utila off the coast of Honduras for the first time to complete my Open Water and Advanced certifications. This trip pretty much sealed the deal on my future life aquatic.
Two years later, I left the bright lights and big city for my Divemaster training in Utila. Thereafter I moved to Tulum and became one of Blue Life’s first Full Cave students; an experience I can only describe as one of the most challenging and rewarding things I have achieved thus far in life.
Since 2011, I have hopped around and worked as a dive instructor in Honduras, Hawaii, and other parts of Mexico, before settling in Playa del Carmen and with Blue Life in 2014. I am thrilled to be a part of the company that played such a formative role for me in my development as both a diver and dive professional. The Riviera Maya has an amazing variety of underwater phenomenon that I feel lucky to experience everyday, and I love to share it with all levels of underwater enthusiasts.
