San Juan

San Juan is located outside the Marine Park and towards the northern tip of the island.  The currents here can be extremely strong and can take you flying over colorful finger coral, sponges, hydroids and algae with potential encounters with turtles, Spotted eagle rays and sharks.  This dive starts close to the shore at 12m/40ft and the current will carry you along a low ridge that slopes down to 21m/70 ft before the Barracuda Wall.  As you drift north you will be at the widest section of Cozumel’s reef, large schools of Blue-striped grunts, jacks and barracudas will be seen. You may also see camouflaged octopus hiding in the coral.
