Cenotes Angelita & Tajma Ha

Incredible light beams in Cenote Tajma Ha.

$229.00

Duration: 5-7 Hours

Experience Level: Advanced Open Water diver or 25 logged dives (15 years old)

Dive Type: Cenote/Cavern

What's included? The trip includes 2 tanks, weights, snacks, water, park entrance, and a great guide that is at least Instructor and Full Cave certified.

The meet point for this tour is the Tulum Dive shop

If you are looking for an unique and mind-blowing exprencience, this is perfect for you.

Cenote Angelita is located a few minutes south of Tulum and about one hour from Playa del Carmen and is great for advanced divers. This site is a true sinkhole, and there is very little overhead environment and no cave passages. It is among divers’ favorites because of an incredible phenomenon that occurs at about 100 ft/30mt. At that depth, there is a very dense cloud of hydrogen sulfide which looks like chocolate milk. At about 110ft/33mt, you will be below the cloud in crystal clear salt water but there is no sunlight since it is completely absorbed by the cloud.

Tajma Ha Cenote is a great cavern dive located between Puerto Aventuras and Akumal which are about 20 minutes from Tulum or Playa del Carmen. This site is very popular amongst cavern divers because it offers a huge range of things to see. There are sections where you can observe the visual disturbance created when the layers of fresh and salt waters meet, called a halocline. You will another beautiful sinkhole called Cenote Sugarbowl, and finally turn around at the cavern limits just beyond Cenote Esmeralda. Between the Sugarbowl and Tajma Ha cenotes there is a huge chamber that is only partially filled with water. There are a few cracks in the ceiling of this chamber which, between the months of May and September, allow beams of light to come down through the water, making the Points of Light Room a must see during the summer months.  Extra care needs to be taken to prevent damage to the fragile formations, as well as good buoyancy control and equalization techniques due to significant depth changes throughout the dive.

The Tajma Ha cenote has been popular among certified cave divers for years. One of the most famous cave dives is to reach Chinese Gardens from Tajma Ha.  The dive begins on the permanently installed cavern line. When you dive to the point on the cavern line furthest from the entrance, you will find another beautiful sinkhole called Cenote Esmeralda. Just passed Esmeralda, you can jump to the cave line, and then locate a secret tunnel to reach the Chinese Garden. The towering decorations within the two chambers of the Garden are stunning.

Best all around experience! My experience with Blue Life started weeks before traveling to Playa Del Carmen. Andrea was extremely responsive to the multitude of questions that I had about the area and the recommendations for our trip. Because of this response and attention, I felt I was visiting old friends when I finally made it to Playa. But the best part was the Cenote dives with Hugo. He proved to be the most fantastic guide and dive partner around. If you are looking for a terrific experience with excellent customer service and amazing dive experiences, Blue Life has it all!

I had a great experience with the entire team at BlueLife. I did 4 reef dives (2 at Playa and 2 at Cozumel) with Valentina, 2 cenote dives with Hugo, and also did the whale shark snorkeling up in Isla Mujeres. Everyone was very professional, prepared, thorough, and communicated very clearly about all aspects of the activities. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for a great experience from beginning to end!

Heavenly diving experience! I did nine fabulous dives with Blue Life - 2 reef dives with Gustavo and 7 cenote dives with Vale. The customer service was excellent from the first email contact with Andrea. The instructors took patient care of me every step of the way, even through issues with my ears and congestion. I can\'t say enough good things about the cenote dives. Fantastic, each one a different world. We visited 6 cenotes in all - Calavera, Car Wash, the Pit (my favorite), 2 dives in Dos Ojos, Ponderosa (Jardin del Eden) and Taj Maha. This was my first cenote experience after years of reef diving, and I\'m so glad I did it. The beauty and other-worldly quality of these places is hard to describe. Such a transformative experience. Vale took such awesome care of me I felt pampered through every dive. Blue Life is a great dive shop and I will certainly dive with them again on my next trip. Such friendly people who take good care of their customers. And, after all, there are more cenotes to see!

Friendly and professional Dive Operator in Playa Del Carmen I booked a couple of days diving in the cenotes around Playa del Carmen and Tulum and I was not disappointed! The staff is very professional and the dive guides fully trained, they speak perfect english and always made us feel at ease in the water as well as outside. The whole experience was a real pleasure, diving underground can be stressful but our guide (Valentina) knew exactly where to take us and where to stop for a nice snack too. I also booked a whale shark snorkelling trip via BlueLife and was again very very happy, even if the day was not managed directly by BlueLife.

Great divecenter, even better guides! We had 10 dives with these guys, including Cozumel sites, a bullshark dive, and 6 different cenotes. All of them were perfect, and our guides and contact persons were professional, yet friendly and very flexible. We thank Leo, Misa, Hugo and Pepe for the good time and dives we had. The center is at a good location, close to the sea, it has good wifi, and nitrox and 15l tanks are complementary We had some rescheduling because the wind made the sea too wavey for diving, but we had constant updates from bluelife. They don\'t do the bullshark feeding, so we decided to do this with a different divecenter and I do recommend the feeding if you are a shark enthusiast. Other than that, they are a perfect choice for all types of diving

Best Dive Family in Mexico! I am a 17 year old diver and on my trip with Blue Life, I was getting my Nitrox and Side-Mount certifications. Before we even made it to Mexico, Blue Life was beyond helpful with my education and my online work. They worked easily and efficiently to help me get all my paperwork arranged, and when I showed up at the shop they gave me a warm welcome like I had already dove with them before. Their dive sites were beyond beautiful. My first dives were in the cenotes (my first freshwater dives!) and Hugo was amazingly patient and caring as I struggled with Side-Mount. When my goggles wouldn\'t clear underwater, he gave me his. And when I mentioned how much I wanted a shark dive, they arranged it so I could go on one the next day! Every member of the Blue Life staff is amazing, friendly, and welcoming. They are so trustworthy my mom let me dive alone for the first time, and had no worries the following dives after that (Which is saying something, as I\'m sure other parents know)! I am so excited for my next trip to Mexico purely because I can\'t wait to dive with Blue Life again, for hopefully many many years to come. If you\'re thinking about diving, choose Blue Life!

The best scuba operator in Riviera Maya I\'ve been diving with Blue Life for the past 3 years and I keep booking with them every time I visit Riviera Maya. Hugo, the advanced cave diving instructor, is the main reason I keep diving with them exclusively, his knowledge and confidence diving cenotes translates in a great confidence doing what is cataloged as one of the most dangerous activities. The staff is great, they\'ve always been amazingly helpful and my dives have always been a pleasure. Honestly, there\'s nothing but good things I can say about the shop and I keep recommending it to anyone I know is traveling to Mexico (In fact, I\'m planning on organizing a trip to Playa with my diving group and doing the full cave certification myself). One thing I missed at the shop is a store with a variety of essentials to purchase (like fins and masks), but John (the owner) told me he is thinking about having some stock. There are probably over one hundred scuba operators in Playa del Carmen but Blue Life always delivers and over achieves.

Awesome experience Last year, my wife and I visited Riviera Maya. While we were there, we really wanted go for diving. Since Blue Life had superb reviews, I contacted and Fernanda helped me with arrangement. While were there, I decided to get my open water certificate, and while doing so my wife took the refresher course. Hugo took care of my wife and I as he was superb instructor with patience. He was also able to give us a shuttle service to rather far hotel that we were staying. We ended up going two ocean dives and one cenote dive. We were planned for three ocean dives, but due to severe weather, after waiting out a day Blue Life suggested and took us to a Cenote diving next day. Whole experience was superb and will definitely recommend to everyone. I know I am leaving a super late review as I was too busy with life. Me and my wife is planning to visit Riviera Maya next month and remembered that I forgot to post a promised review. If I can I will definitely contact Blue Life again. Only happy memories.

Flexible and attentive I want to thank the Bluelife team for organizing our diving. We were not simple clients, two kids frustrate our plans, so Fernanda and Marcela have to change and rearrange our dives several times. But anyway, we got all we want and dive in the most interest cenotes. If you want to get individual attention, you should go to the BlueLife!

Simply the best What can I say? I\'ve travelled and done all my dives with my boyfriend but I was solo on this trip. A little nervous. But blue life and my dive guide Rimas were beyond exceptional in making the dive absolutely amazing. So comforting so knowledgable and patient and sooooo passionate... I wouldn\'t go to any other dive shop in playa at all!!! Don\'t hesitate to dive with this dive shop you\'ll regret it.... I did some cenote dives aswell as Cozumel and WOW is all I can say.... it makes me sad they are so far away from Australia or is dive ALL the time...... great team, great equipment and very personal experience....

6 Cenote Dives... Experience of a life time I\'m a PADI AOW diver with 45 tanks experience. However, this is the first time I dive in fresh water. Cenote dive is absolutely an unique experience. My dive guide Sarah was excellent. She explained every details very carefully before dive, took care of every member in the team. The 6 cenotes dive is worthy to give it a try.

Best Cenote diving experience! Friendly & Professional Service We booked a cenotes scuba dive trip with Blue Life ahead of time, and from the very start we received very professional and friendly support from the Blue Life team. Marcela communicated with us via email to coordinate every detail of our trip, including transportation since we were staying in Tulum, so that we were ready to go when we arrived. There were four divers in our group, and we felt like we received very attentive and personalized service from Blue Life - we were able to dive the cenotes as our own group with Hugo, our cavern dive master. We had a fantastic time diving with him! He is a wonderful, professional, and very experienced friendly guide. He made us feel comfortable 100% of the time, especially important diving in the cenotes\' cavern zone since we had zero prior experience doing so. In addition, their SCUBA equipment was in tip top shape - it was very evident that they care for and maintain all of their gear very well. We are very happy with our choice to dive with Blue Life, as they provided simply excellent service. We will definitely be diving with Blue Life again the next time we return to the Riviera Maya for another round of cenotes diving. Thank you for your professionalism and outstanding service!!!

Very good for advanced divers I called five different dive shops before choosing this one. I was looking for unique dive experience and specifically wanted to go to the Taj Mahal Cenote. This was the only Dive Shop that would accommodate me and furthermore they also recommended I dive at \"the pit\". It was an amazing choice as the pit is a very unique diving experience that should not be missed if you are in playa. They arranged a private guide who was a very senior dive master to take me by himself to both locations. I felt very comfortable and 100% safe diving in both of these areas which could, with less experienced divers or guides be dangerous. I will definitely dive with them again if I am back in the playa area.

Cenote Diving A friend and I wanted to dive cenotes. I am a professional diver and have been in the industry for a while, so I was looking for a good service. Blue Life provided that, and then some. Hugo and Valentina took care of us like royalty. On time pick up, great attitude, snacks, all gear in great shape, and they definitely knew what they were doing. Having experienced many dive companies, including those I worked for, this is one to recommend. If you are going to Playa del Carmen/Tulum and want to have a great time diving cenotes, give these guys a call.

Great small diving store I used this store in a couple of cenote dives earlier this year, and also got certified in Nitrox with them. My experience was very good. I had to rent material since I didn\'t bring any with me and it was good of quality and condition, including dive computers, etc. I will use them again in my next visit to the area. Recommended.

amazing cenote dives!!! I\'ve been to a couple of cenote dives with Sarah from the Blue Life Diving. I must say she\'s a great guide as well as a great person. She\'s fun, patient and she knows what she\'s doing. I never had a second though about diving in the cenote no matter how deep or dark it got. I always felt at ease with Sarah as my guide - Thank you again Sarah - you are amazing! Thank you also to all the other staff members who always responded within a few hours or even less to my emails. I highly recommend this diving shop for cenote or any kind of dive. Here are some great people working!

Excellent Cenote Dives I did two days of private guided(by myself) cenote diving with Sarah at Blue Life. First off email communication was tremendous with prompt responses to my many questions and they were very flexible. Sometimes with far flung dive shops you don\'t get prompt email responses, but they were great. Sarah was very professional, on time each day, and went through all of the appropriate safety procedures and protocols which even though I know all of them, I still appreciated it. It lets me know they follow the rules, which is cavern/cave diving is critically important. I did Ponderosa, Taj ma ha, Angelita, and two dives at Dreamsgate. I had to stop my 2nd dive at Dreamsgate because I cramped up. All of the dives were great, I\'ve done cenotes several times before and it never gets old. I had not done Ponderosa, Angelita, or Dreamsgate before. She was very flexible with whatever cenotes I wanted to do, if you don\'t pay extra for a private guide then perhaps it may not be as flexible but I\'m sure they would still take good care of you. They also accomodated my request for double tanks, but watching Sarah do sidemount, while I was lumbering around with the doubles, made me think about getting certified for sidemount at some point. I would tell you if you haven\'t dove the cenotes before, prepare for mid 70 degree water and slow steady diving. I brought my drysuit, but it was so hot outside I chose to dive wet, but in retrospect I probably should have done a drysuit on the 2nd day which might have helped me avoid cramping up. All in all I was very happy with my experience, and would definitely highly recommend Blue Life and will plan on using them again for cenote diving and maybe someday other certifications(cave, TDI decompression procedures, etc).

Safe and Fun Diving We did six cenote dives in two days with Hugo, and it was a fantastic experience. I would definitely recommend Blue Life Diving. You get a personalized experience, and the staff are great to work with. Fernanda is great to communicate with in advance of your trip and help with anything you need. She is quite friendly. Hugo picked us up at our hotel and took us to the cenotes. At each site, he went over the map of the cenote and our planned dive. He gave us backup lights to keep in our BCD\'s since we just had one each. Each dive and each cenote was fun and different. If you are advanced certified, on of my favorites was El Pit. After our dive at El Pit, Hugo asked if we wanted to look at the Pet Cemetery cenote. Because it is lit by artificial light, you need to be cave certified, but he took us inside to see the cavern, and it is really beautiful. Hugo didn\'t need to take us to Pet Cemetery and other shops might now, but it was nice he went out of his way to show us since we were in the area. Lunch was included in our trip. Lunch is probably sandwiches they pick up along the way because it\'s good to take with you, but we love tacos So Hugo took us to taco places that had amazing food. Because our Spanish is minimal, Hugo would tell us what was in each dish. He would order for us, and it was perfect quick eats between dives. Some of the best tacos we had on the trip. On the second day, there was a couple that was having a hard time communicating at the restaurant. Hugo went to the counter and helped communicate with the random couple to help them get tacos as well. Hugo\'s English is fantastic if you aren\'t great at Spanish like me. He has really interesting stories about his experience diving and living in the Yucatan. If you dive with him, I encourage you to ask him about his cave diving experience. He adheres to cavern/cave restrictions completely, and this ensures that you are safe on every dive. I prefer to break the rules most of the time, but cavern/cave restrictions are in place because people have been seriously injured. This is a really good shop that cares about your experience. I recommend asking for Hugo.

What every dive shop should strive to be I booked my trip to Playa in less than a week. Fernanda and Sarah were great in helping me organize my dives and created a customized dive package for me that really worked out perfectly. But before I get into the individual dives, I knew Blue Life was the dive shop for me when they recommended that I should NOT dive the afternoon I got there. My flight arrived in the late morning and it would have cut things really close to make the afternoon boat but I wanted to get in as much diving as I could on this trip so I inquired about making the afternoon boat on that day. Blue Life recommended that I take the afternoon off because there was a good chance that I would miss the boat and I would be super tired from traveling. Well they were absolutely right and I am glad I listened to their advice. I would have made it on time if I went to the diveshop directly from the airport, but I was so tired after such an early morning flight that if I had gone diving I would have been miserable and it would have been a bit unsafe. This really showed me that Blue Life is more about safety and making sure their divers are enjoying themselves rather than making as much $$ as possible (which unfortunately many dive shops are more concerned with). The next day I did 3 dives in Cozumel with Rimas. On all three dives, it was just me, Rimas and one other diver. Rimas was an awesome dive guide. He was very thorough in his pre-dive briefing and it was clear that safety was #1. He also made sure I maximized my bottom-time. On my third dive, the other diver was a beginner and I was a bit nervous that he was going to blow through his air quickly. I think Rimas was thinking the same thing so he asked the first mate of the boat who was also a divemaster/instructor to dive with us. After the beginner diver went through his air rather quickly, Rimas ascended with him and I stayed down for a bit longer with the other dive guide. I don\'t know many dive shops that would have done this for one diver. The next day I went on 4 dives with Rimas in Playa. The 4 dives were great because it was just me and him. I love one on one dives and half of my dives with Blue Life were one on one. I felt like I was back in my open water course from all the personal attention. On my final day of diving I did 3 dives at two different Cenotes with Hugo. The first two tanks were at Dos Ojos. Hugo was great with his pre-dive briefing and was a great guide. It was my first time cavern diving but I felt completely safe. I did dive with 3 other divers who had just gotten their open-water but it wasn\'t as bad as I thought it was going to be. My last dive of the day and the last dive of my trip was at a different Cenote (Tajmaha) and this was my favorite dive of the entire trip. It helped that this was another one on one dive and our bottom time was much, much longer than my dives at Dos Ojos. Hugo also took me on a route that I think was the opposite direction of the other divers there so it felt like we were the only divers in that Cenote. I also liked that Hugo told me the history of the Cenotes and the current state as well. Some quick stats: 10 dives total 5 one-on-one dives Average dive group size: 1.9 divers/guide (which is insanely low) Rimas and Hugo were incredible guides and really good people too. I met some of the other dive shop people and they were all really nice and I\'m sure are great guides/instructors. But what really stands out is that you can tell they really love what they do and love diving, and that attitude makes it a better experience for the divers. I will definitely be back in Playa to dive with Blue Life again as there are many more Cenotes that I would like to dive. *Don\'t forget to tip your Dive Guide and Crew! The generally accepted practice is $5-10 PER TANK. Tipping is obviously your choice but it\'s kind of a D move not to.

Fantastic Diving. Wonderful Staff. This shop is situated on the \"mellow\" edge of town, away from the fray of Playa del Carmen\'s main strip, 10th Avenue. The relaxed vibe that pervades the shop takes the frenetic human temperature down to more acceptable levels, a welcome respite from the din and souvenir palaces just a few blocks away. For divers looking for a more personalized approach, the dedicated crew that run this delightful outfit will customize your diving trips and strive to make everything work. If cenote diving is your thing, or if you\'d like to add such an experience to a log book (as I did), the crew here provide expert guidance--they are trained cave divers. Our family, with varying degrees of skills, took the plunge with Hugo and Remus, diving Cozumel and the reef off Playa. Hugo conducted open-water certification dives for our 10-year-old, and Fernanda took care of our questions and bookings (and recommended local eateries as well). Rental prices are reasonable and the equipment is in good shape. Highly recommended!

Cave Diving in the Cenotes of Riveria Maya I just returned from a week of diving with the staff at Blue Life Diving. Day one, Vale and I took the ferry to dive in Cozumel. I love diving in Cozumel. The remaining 6 days I went cave diving with Hugo as my guide. We visited a different cave system each day; it was fantastic. Both of the guides were personable, safety conscious and very knowledgable about the area and its dive sites. Last year, I took a two week course in side mount, cavern and cave diving at Blue Life. Interested in exploring a new chapter in diving? If so, investigate the options at Blue Life. You can feel comfortable diving with the personnel there; you will be in good hands. Charles.

Blue Life is the best!!! This is the best dive shop I have ever been to. The staff is amazing. From the initial booking with Fernanda to the diving with Hugo, Sarah, and Frank, everything is super organized and professional. This was my 3rd time cave diving with Blue Life and I would not go anywhere else. As a PADI instructor, I have been to numerous shops across the Caribbean and Mexico and Blue Life is the best I have been to. I can\'t wait to go back.

bucket list cenote diving After a week of drift diving Cozumel, added a few days in Cancun with plans to do a couple of cenote dives. Well, expectations were exceeded, our DM, Simon, was our DM, very safety concious & experienced. An \"other worldly\" experience, glad we had a serious DM, would not have wanted to do 1st cenote diving with a company or DM with less experience, if open water diving can kill you, cenote diving can do it 4x as easy. Would definately go back. My 130 dives are not big time, but have enough to know a quality, customer service driven dive company when I experience 1. Fernanda, the shop & dive coordinator, was very prompt @ answering all my pre-trip questions, like she wanted us to join them, what a concdept.

Spectacular Service, Excellent Diving I had the pleasure of diving with the great people at Blue Life and I couldn\'t be happier. While there\'s an abundance of dive operators in Playa I can\'t imagine that many can match the level of personalized care and attention that I experienced with Blue Life. The entire staff seemed fully engaged and mainly interested in my safety and ensuring the dives were tailored to my skill level and my interests. I did a six dive package. Each was unique and fun but the cenotes are by far the most unusual environment I\'ve been in to date. A surreal and incredible experience. But regardless of the location, the Blue Life team made sure that my needs were met. One of my dives even included lunch, a nice touch. At the end of the day, they rinsed and stored my gear so it was ready for the next day of diving. I am 100% satisfied with the service I received and I can recommend them to anyone looking for personalized service and diving with professionals who are interested in ensuring you have a good experience.

Best staff and service ever! This is the 2nd time I\'ve dived with Frank and Blue Life. This time for a movie production \"Cave\" where Frank, Sarah and Fernanda worked as local producers doing all of our logistics in terms of diving, cenotes license, accomodation and getting around. We received great help from Simon and Hugo as safety divers for our actors and they provided all their effort to help out on the shoot. Frank is very helpful and supervising as always, they made us feel safe and taken care of, on a personal level too. I highly recommend their level of expertise and the #1 place to go for cenote, cavern and cave diving on Yucatan. You can not deal with better people than this, and their business is growing so please put your holiday investments and experiences here, you won\'t regret it. Can\'t wait to plan our 3rd trip!

Awesome Experience Had a great experience at this dive shop. Wandered in off the street and was able to schedule a day of diving catered exactly to what we wanted to do - a reef dive and a cenote dive. The staff were very friendly and our dive guide Hugo was awesome. We had never done a Cenote dive before but Hugo gave great guidance and we had an unreal experience. Would definitely recommend this dive shop!

Great Dive Shop that caters to its customers After a less than pleasant experience with another dive shop, my girlfriend and I wandered into this one. Immediately they asked us what we wanted to see and created an itinerary for just that. We signed up to do a dive at Akumal in hopes of seeing some turtles, and then ending the day in a Cenote. The next morning we had 3 additional divers join us. We did our first dive, and while we did not see any turtles, our guide Hugo was awesome. We went to the cenote to finish while the other divers did another turtle dive. They say turtles, but the cenote dive was the coolest dive I have done to date. Utterly breathtaking. Hugo was again very professional and knowledgable.

Tailored dive package with great service! Before our trip we corresponded with Courtney and Sarah, both of which were very helpful in creating a dive package that my boyfriend and I wished to do. The diving they recommended in Cozumel was great diving. Our dive guide, Hugo, showed us a great time and ensured our safety. The second day of diving in the cenotes with Hugo was an unbelievable experience for us. We did not have previous experience cavern diving, so Hugo gave us extensive safety briefings and lead us through 3 caverns. I highly recommend diving the cenotes, especially with Blue Life. Our dive group only consisted of myself and my boyfriend, so you can\'t ask for a better dive experience.

The BEST Cave and Cavern Diving with Blue Life Diving!!!! We dove for 4 straight days and did the Taj Mahal, Angelita, Pit, Car Wash, Grand and Dos Ojos cenotes. Our divemaster, Hugo, was outstanding. He was a great diver and even better host. Blue Life Diving scheduled our whole week which included a day on a private boat drift diving in Cozumel. If you want a great week of diving look no further than Blue Life and their owner Frank Gutierrez. From start to finish we received the most amazing service and experience. I\'ve travelled all round the world and Blue Life truly delivers over and above. If you\'re looking for a fantastic professional service then this is the dive company for you.

Excellent diving - local ocean, Cozumel and cenotes We had five days of wonderful diving with Blue Life - two days on the local Playa sites, two days on Cozumel via the ferry and a day at cenotes. We booked with Frank online and coordinated via both email and telephone. Frank has local and US phone numbers so he makes communications really easy - and he\'s almost instantaneous in responding to questions. It was kind of funny that we never actually met Frank in person during our visit, because he had gone to Mexico City to get a new vehicle for the business. However, he had everything so well organized that we didn\'t miss a beat. Josiah was our DM on the four ocean dive days. We met on our first day, set up our gear and didn\'t need to mess with it until our last dive. He took car of washing everything and hanging gear to dry. Throughout the dives, Josiah allowed us to dive at our own pace and spend as much time as we wanted checking out things we found and taking photos. He pointed out stuff he found, but he totally let us dive our own profiles and to our capabilities. We didn\'t surface until we needed to. It was great diving with Josiah. Rafael (aka Frenchie) took us diving at The Pit and Tajma Ha. We had two great dives and we loved experiencing Rafael\'s love of cenote and cave diving. We\'ve been diving with several other shops in the Playa area and Blue Life is the best we\'ve seen. We highly recommend them.

First Cenotes\' Dive! A recent short trip to Mexico, gave us an opportunity for one day of cenotes diving. A magical landscape and experience made even better by the generosity and hospitality we were given by Blue Life. From the easy planning process via email with Frank all the way to our, out-of-the-way drop off to our hotel by Frenchie, our entire experience (my first of cavern diving) was amazing! Our guide Frenchie was down to earth and kept us comfortable and informed every step of the way. His love for diving was inspiring to say the least. Sad to have had only enough time for one day of diving, but the excursion left me wanting for more, and any trip in the future to the Playa del Carmen area, Blue Life will be hearing from me! An experience I will never forget, thank you again!

Phenomenal service. This the second time I\'ve had the opportunity to dive with Blue Life, the experience was just as exciting as the first. Frank was able to accomadate me and my misses with a wonderful day of cenotes diving. As before he fine tuned the dive itinerary specifically to our wants and desires. He even provided out of the way transportation to and from our hotel. And what else can I say Frenchie, Frenchie, Frenchie, an absolute gentleman and professional, it was pleasure having him as our guide. I can\'t wait for my next adventure with Blue Life.

Personal service Having a private dive master to show me about the cenotes of the Playa to Tulum area - well it doesn\'t come any better than that. My diving experience has been ocean and large Midwestern US lakes and while in Playa de Carmen I wanted a taste of the cenote and cave diving I\'d read about available there. My first contact was with Sara thru the Blue Life web site and she was very attentive and prompt with her information and encouragement, always availble by email and phone, William, my dive master, picked me up at my hotel and escorted me thru the day, just what I wanted but you can never expect. He was very knowledgeable and experienced and taught me a great deal about the mechanics of true cave diving along with my one day of cenote diving. As soon as time allows me a week to go back, I will be returning for the full cave training. The cenotes and caves are incredible and mysterious geological wonders to rival anything the ocean offers. Thanks to Blue Life for an amazing day.

Felt like Indiana Jones My wife and I did our advanced water certification as well as Cenote diving with Blue Life. It was an unforgettable experience and Peter our instructor made it very special. Cenote diving was amazing, really felt like we were in an Indiana Jones movies, lol. Frank was very reliable, flexible, easy to work with and gave me the best prices possible. Couldn\'t have asked for a better diving experience and Blue Life made it happen.

Great experience with Bluelife team / Wilian our divemaster Spent the week diving with Wilian in the cenotes and the ocean - we had an absolute blast! Karla and Frank organised everything before arrival and kept checking on us throughout the week. They advised us on hotels before the trip and adapted our diving schedule when we caught the cenotes bug, culminating with the pit and dos ojos on our last day. Wilian is a great divemaster, taking us trough the nitrox course on day 2 then showing us his passion for exploration in the cenotes for the rest of the week.

Custom diving at its best I can tell you that Blue Life Diving\'s top spot on Trip Advisor has been well earned and deserved. My wife and I called a few dive operators for quotes and options on arrival in Playa. It was Blue Life Diving who\'s custom dive plan and attention to their customers needs won me over. Karla and Frank\'s attention to their customers is second to none. My wife got burnt on the day we went to Cozumel so wasn\'t feeling up to diving again in Cozumel the next day. Frank was so understanding and totally went out of his way to make last minute changes so we could dive two more cenotes vs. another long sunny trip on the Cozumel boat. Blue Life truly takes care of their customers and goes the extra mile to ensure that they are having a great time. In total we did ten dives with Blue Life. Also, their equipment is all top notch and well taken care of. Special thanks to William who helped me overcome my fear of cenote diving. (it was so good we dove four of them!) He practices super safe diving and is a great guide and an amazing person. We\'ll definitely we using Blue Life for all future diving trips on the Mayan Coast. They are the best!

Great company to dive with Blue Life was one of a few companies we tried while in Playa Del Carmen, and I wish we had tried them first. In a region heavy on profiteering, Blue Life\'s focus on Service and professionalism was refreshing and very appreciated. If there is any disparity in price between them and other companies (and there wasn\'t that I noticed), they are worth every cent

DIVE WITH THEM! On June 27, 2014, and June 28, 2014, I did three and four dives respectively with Blue Life divers. My guide was Frank Gutierrez, one of the owners of Blue Life, and we dove The Pit, Taj Maha, Dreamgate, and Dos Ojos. From the beginning, Blue Life\'s service was excellent: Karla Perusquia, who runs Blue Life with Frank, was immediately responsive to my emails and super-helpful and charming. Whatever I asked, Karla answered. Frank is a fun, charming guide who is not only hard-working and helpful, but who also is just a blast to hang out with. This should show what I mean: I came down to Playa to dive the Cenotes and hit my 100th dive. I miscounted and thought I needed six dives to get there. Three dives per day. After the first day, I realized I\'d miscounted. I told Frank and Karla the next morning and Frank found a way to get me four dives on day two...and my hundredth dive. Thank you, Karla and Frank, for an awesome two days of diving. I\'d book you guys again in a heartbeat.

Excellent personalized service!!! Frank and Karla run a great business! They worked hard to create a personalized experience that truly meets your needs and expectations. Their dive staff includes masters level marine biologists that are patient, considerate, and able to adapt to all levels of diver from basic to advanced. There is not a better place to get your cave diving experience than with Blue Life. Would not hesitate to dive with them again!!! Thanks guys!!!

Amazing dives, great personalized Service! I am an expireced diver who had always wanted to do a cenote dive. I was referred to Blue Life by a dive shop I used to dive with, I was very happy I contacted them for the dives. My guide Pete came to my Hotel in Tulum to pick me up. From the beginning I was impressed by his professionalism, and knowledge. I had around 250 dives, but zero in a Cenote, I was a little nervous about the dive. Pete really helped by giving me a thurough dive briefing, and helping with my equipment. Once in the water I had an amazing dive experience, it was like nothing I had seen before. I\'d like to give a big thanks to Pete for the great dives, and to Frank and Karla for getting it all set up. The next time I am diving in the Yucatan it will be with Blue Life!

Amazing experience I\'m a moderately-experienced diver, always looking for new challenges and opportunities to expand my skill sets, and since I was going to the best place in the world for cave diving, I figured it was the perfect time to give it a shot. I had read a lot about cave diving, and was tempted to test the waters, although not without some trepidation, so I signed up for a cavern course. In the end, I got more than I asked for, but all of which is what I really wanted--not only did I get a solid foundation in cavern diving, but also sidemount diving, and over the course of three days I even completed a not-insubstantial portion of the intro to cave course. Frank is a great instructor; even though we were doing something that most people, including many certified divers, would balk at, I felt completely safe the whole time, and, by the end, was confident in the skills I\'d learned. The last dive, which I took with my team on the cavern side of Taj Ma Ha\', was perhaps the best of my life so far. I am already looking forward to returning and completing the intro to cave course, and eventually getting full cave certification.

Experience of a Lifetime! If you are already a diver and haven\'t experienced the Playa/Cozumel/Tulum area of Mexico, you need to do it soon. If you are not certified, but have been thinking about it, what are you waiting for!? We recently returned from our trip, and can\'t wait to get back to one of the best diving areas in the world!!! Blue Life made our experience even more memorable by providing first class service and professionalism. Both Frank and Karla are English speaking, as well as our DM Pete, which made arrangements that much easier. Pete was exceptional in his services as well. He was a wealth of information, and showed much skill and concern for everyone\'s happiness and safety. Both me and my wife highly recommend Blue Life if you are looking to add to your diving bucket list, or to get the proper training in a world class environment.

The best operator in the area! We dived with Blue Life back in December and they were absolutely amazing! We did lots of research before coming to Mexico as there are thousands of dive operators available in the area and from other reviews we decided to do our Cenote dives with Blue Life. They are honestly the best operator in the area (we tried two other companies). Frank runs a fantastic operation, all of his equipment top notch, safety is incredibly important, and their communication was fantastic! Thanks Natalie and Tristan

Unforgettable scenery with reliable tuition To experience the underwater world in the \"sink holes\" of Mexican jungle is a very exotic and cultural way of diving, its like nothing else! We chose Blue Life diving because of Frank\'s reputation in the diving society and by recommendation from his previous students. Our courses gave us new in-depth view of how to dive caverns with sidemount and we appreciated the high level of professionalism. We will for sure come back to dive the cenotes again, that tells a lot about our diving experience with Blue Life.

Blue Life Delivers!!! I had a complicated request. I needed a dive shop to customize 7 days of dives in a combination of cenotes and open water to a group consisting of 3 freedivers, an underwater videographer, a playwright (myself) and a video designer all coming from NYC to shoot video for an upcoming theatrical production. I reached out to several dive operations in Playa. None responded with the customer service options that Frank offered. I chose Blue Life. It made my trip a success! He picked us up at our hotel on time, took us to cenotes, and open water dives, provided all the equipment we needed. Even when we had a situation at a cenote which caused him to come out of pocket to cover an unexpected expense, he stuck to the original price he quoted me which was quite fair. Needless to say, Frank and Karla exceeded my expectations, made me look like an organized travel-hero. If you want to contact me for more accolades please do so. I am in awe of his ability to deliver. [email protected]

Great diving & crew Just back from Mexico and 4 days of diving (in total 10 dives) with a Blue Life and DM Pete. I have had one, if not the best dive experience in my life. I booked through Karla at Blue Life 4 days of diving, including Cenote, Cozumel & Bull shark. The superb communication between Karla and myself before my arrival and the great support from my dive buddy / dive master Pete made this an incredible diving experience. When (not if!) I come back, I\'ll make sure to dive with you again!

A Valuable Resource In our industry, it is important to collaborate with those we have a close and personal relationship with. When 3LD decided we should shoot my designs in Mexico, we became anxious - how could we possibly coordinate everything we need so quickly? We\'re professional designers and videographers, but coordinating across international lines, not to mention underwater, is always a tricky situation. Enter Frank, Karla, from Blue Life - a one of a kind, full-service \"dive-shop\" that couldn\'t have been more generous with their time, resources and spirit. Their professional cautiousness and attention to detail kept our six person crew safe, calm and happy while performing extremely difficult maneuvers underwater, and their knowledge of the area allowed us to move swiftly from location to location, despite many obstacles in our path (local language barriers, uncooperative sunlight, difficult safety coordination - all handled excellently by Blue Life). It is easy to say that, without Blue Life, the entire operation would\'ve been trecherous. I am so thankful for the new friends I\'ve made in them, and the new resource I have through them.

Best Birthday Experience Ever I told my husband that I wanted to do cavern diving for my birthday. I had heard that Mexico was the best place to do this because the cenotes around Tulum were supposed to be super amazing. I also love taking under-water photos and I wished to take a few photos to cherish the memory. After a lot of research, I found a reputable diving company via the PADI website, who then went on to recommend Frank to us. At the time, we decided to kill 2 birds with one stone, to do the Speciality Diver course in Cavern Diver and enjoy cavern diving. We were in contact with Frank via email at the beginning and he was very knowledgable in advising what courses were available, how long it would take, the reading material we would need to do and subsequent online test. He even recommended Side Mount as an option and we decided to do that too. We were sent a little video on how to practice on our buoyancy prior to our arrival as we only had a few days in Mexico so a lot of pre-prep work was required eliminating unnecessary class room time and maximising on hands-on in the water experience. Frank was able to tailor our course over 3-4 days and also helped me to take a photo of this very special experience, allowing me to also stop once in a while to take a photo quickly whilst on our strict training. We started off with training just the 2 of us, then a 3rd person joined which made the training experience even more challenging and fun. Frank is a very patient and calm teacher, but he is no softy and makes you work for the answers and solutions, he also has a wicked sense of humour and is very generous with his time. He went beyond our expectations and picked us up every morning, hand picking some of the best and most beautiful cenotes for our training, and took us to a great local place for drinks and the biggest bowl of ceviche I have ever seen. He even went as far as getting us a bottle of this local tequila that we wanted and hand delivered it to our hotel. We were so touched as it was a hell of a long drive back. My advice is that you do need a thick full length wet suit and your rash vest as it does get super cold in there, but do bring your own mask and fins. And a hat for when Frank does the verbal training above water. It is disgustingly hot before you go in the cave in full gear but once in the water it is a sweet relief. The experience was everything I thought it would be, I was amazed how different it was to swim in salt water to rain water in a matter of seconds. The light that shone through the cave ceiling holes looked like UFO beams coming down from the sky with loads of cat fishes swimming around. It was totally amazing. We came away with more qualifications than I thought we would and I am very proud to say we are now certified as: 1. Sidemount Diver (TDI) Cavern Diver (TDI) Sidemount (Padi) Cavern Diver (Padi) Sidemount Diver (SDI) I would highly recommend Blue Life and Frank as your trainer, AND PERSONALLY THANK FRANK for the best ever birthday experience.

Glorious cenotes Did four glorious days of cenote diving with Frank\'s business partner Cesar. Had found Frank via Scubaboard.com. Cenote diving is a beautiful and surreal experience that every diver with good buoyancy skills must seek out. Dove Chikin Ha, Gran Cenote, Calavera, Angelita, Dreamgate, The Pit and Pet Cemetery. Each was different form the last, from shallow two-meter deep cruises through complex, otherworldly speleotherms to deep, spooky dives into clouds of stinging hydrogen sulfide. So different from your run-of-the-mill tropical angelfish/triggerfish dive. Cesar was a competent and reassuring guide with whom I would be happy to dive again.

Hooked up with him and planned some of the itinerary w/ him via facebook. Had a awesome time. Went well beyond in accommodating us and our requests to go see specific cenotes as well as recommending some as well. Awesome dives, great guide.

first time diver... now a diver forever I did my first dives with blue life. I have to say I have never experienced anything quite like it. The dive sites where amazing, I visited a few reefs, did one night dive, visited a number of cenotes, (\"angelita\" is my favorite) and the guys from blue life even set up a day for me to go swimming with whale sharks... not a lot of people get to say that. The dive sites I visited where incredible but the success of my experience had to do a lot with the blue life team. Not only do these guys speak perfect English and Spanish they know their way around Playa del Carmen better than anyone I saw there. They know all the cenotes, the boat owners, the lady that fills the tanks, the rest of the diving community in playa and tulum, they even know the best place to get tacos after a long day of diving.... and trust me you\'re going to thank them for that. These guys are easy going and fun to be around, but even as a new diver they always made me feel safe in the water. They are amazing instructors, incredably professional, and all around experienced divers. I am hoping to return to Mexico soon for my rescue course and I\'m looking forward to it like a 5 year old waits for Christmas. I can\'t wait to go back to Mexico and go diving with my friends.

Eat, Sleep and Dive.....Living the dream! Diving in Mexico was one of my top expereinces! Between reef diving and cenote diving you have so many options! Our guide and now good friend Cristobal\'s was amazing, we could not have asked for a better guide. We did two days of reef and ship wreck diving, wandered over to Cozumel for a day and then we started in on the cenotes! The cenotes were quite the exciting adventure and Cristobal always made sure we were well prepared. His knowledge of how to properly plan and navigate the dives was so reassuring it made the diving even more enjoyable. My teammates and I were so happy with all of the dives. It would be hard pick a favorite dive, but two that really stood out to me were El Pit and Angelita. El Pit was a giant hole that had a thick sulfur layer around 30m(??) that you were able to descend down through that looked like a dense fog, you could barely see a foot in front of you. It was so much fun. I would highly recommend this trip to experienced divers who have their buoyancy under full control because kicking up sand and nudging the stalactites is never fun for anyone. This is a great trip for people who want to either plan group dives or want to take their own solo vacation and dive with Cristobals! :) Have fun!

Awesome Cavern Diving! I was in Cozumel for a dive trip for a week this Spring. We were lucky enough to head over to Playa for a day of cenote diving. Had an incredible experience with Blue Life - guides were friendly, knowledgeable, safe and of course, fun! This was my first time cavern diving, and I loved it. Highly recommended!

Dives of our lives at Blue Life My girlfriend and I got to Playa del Carmen and felt very comfortable and welcomed at Blue Life. The crew are very professional and experienced while still being amiable and friendly. Frank Gutierrez accommodated our needs by creating a schedule to suit us. After discussing what we wanted to see and experience he recommended and guided in Cenotes that were AMAZING! Cenote Angelita, Dream Gate Cenote , Pet Cemetery, Taj Mahal Cenote. We felt so relaxed and comfortable that we decided to stay longer and I decided to do the cavern course with him. The training was top notch, the best I could have received anywhere. Frank not only gave me a personalized cavern training but also gave me training in other important aspects of diving. I am looking forward to go back and do a full cave diving course a Blue Life.
