Diving the Dos Ojos Cenotes is a favorite amongst adventure seekers.  Dos Ojos means ‘Two Eyes’ in Spanish, and part of the tour takes us diving from one of them, to the other and back. The cenotes get their name from the 2 small openings that are very close to each other within the park. These holes are linked to each other and it is very easy to swim between them. The cavern dives, Barbie Line and Bat Cave are some of the most famous in the entire area. There are large open water areas with sandy bottoms so this is a great site for beginner and intermediate divers.  The site is beautifully decorated and is also very popular amongst snorkelers. The average depth here is less than 30 ft/10 mt.

Before the dive you will be given a proper safety briefing and your guide will talk to you about the correct way to dive in the cenote.  There is a guideline which we must follow at all times, but you will always remain within the natural light zone.  This means that you should always be able to see sunlight during the dive.  There is not enough light in the cenotes for the use of a GoPro, but please be sure to let us know if you are planning on bringing a camera as this changes the way we talk about dive safety.

The Dos Ojos Cenotes or part of the Sac Actun cave system, the largest underwater cave system in the world with over 300 km of explored passage.  This is a great place to bring the family as there are activities for non divers.  If you want to get the most out of this experience, we recommend you combine the Dos Ojos dive with another dive as the Pit or upgrade the cenote dives in your Taste of the Riviera Maya Package to include Dos Ojos.
